Constructora del Cardoner begins the full refurbishment and change of use of the building located in Nova Icària.
Constructora del Cardoner has begun the comprehensive refurbishment of the building that housed the communications centre of the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games, located in the Nova Icària neighbourhood on the city’s seafront.
The project involves transforming the property into a residential building through an intervention that will combine the preservation of key architectural elements of the original structure with adaptation to current technical and energy-efficiency requirements.
The intervention will recover and enhance a building closely linked to Barcelona’s urban transformation during the Olympic Games, which redefined the city’s coastline and led to the development of the Nova Icària neighbourhood.
With this project, Constructora del Cardoner further strengthens its experience in the refurbishment and adaptive reuse of distinctive buildings, contributing to the regeneration of built heritage and its integration into new urban uses.
