Can Ricart
In Barcelona’s 22@ innovation district, the complete refurbishment of four industrial warehouses in Can Ricart preserves the architectural character and original structure of the buildings, transforming them into loft-style homes built with high-quality materials and finishes.
Our intervention respects the heritage value of Can Ricart, listed as a Cultural Asset of National Interest, carrying out a refurbishment that enabled the creation of 10 homes. Thanks to precise technical coordination, we achieved the integration of new structures within the pre-existing buildings, using construction solutions adapted to the physical conditions of each warehouse.

-
High-quality structural execution
To highlight the industrial past of the warehouses, the construction was adapted to their distinctive architectural features, with the aim of preserving the original industrial structure and aesthetics.
-
High-end finishes
Careful and detailed construction work using high-quality materials. Adaptation to the current demand for spacious and versatile areas, consistent with the loft concept.
-
Technical integration of the new structure with the existing one
Full technical integration was achieved through solutions such as composite steel decking and interior metal structures.
A blend of sustainability and heritage
- We integrated a centralised aerothermal climate system with efficient distribution, together with water-saving systems. Durable, low-environmental-impact materials were also used, combined with optimising the reuse of the existing infrastructure.
The enhancement of the industrial aesthetic of the historic building
- Through demanding work coordinated with specialised contractors in metal structures and high-end carpentry, we preserved the industrial architectural character of Can Ricart. Reinforced concrete was used for the structure, along with solutions such as composite steel decking and interior metal structures for mezzanines.
Optimising execution times
- The works were carried out ensuring a minimally invasive intervention, with very limited earthworks and extensive reuse of the existing structure. Industrialised systems were employed to optimise time and guarantee construction quality in spaces with complex geometries.
