The Masquefa Municipal Sports Complex is located on the outskirts of the town, in the Anoia region. Our intervention consisted of the construction of a modern and functional indoor swimming pool, designed to expand the municipal sports offering throughout the year.
The works were carried out in phases, ensuring compatibility with the partial operation of the rest of the complex’s facilities. The construction of the new pool roof, with large structural spans, and the integration of the specific building services required for an aquatic facility were two of the main challenges of the project.

Optimisation of the building envelope
- In a facility with intensive use and high environmental demands, optimisation of the building envelope was key to ensuring thermal performance and indoor comfort for pool users. The adopted solutions also reduce energy consumption and improve the building’s durability in a humid environment.

Overcoming the site’s geotechnical conditions
- The presence of anthropogenic fill and heterogeneous strata required a carefully studied and executed foundation system. The work, based on a detailed geotechnical study, ensured a safe, stable and responsible implementation of the new building.

In the construction of a complex structure
- The combination of reinforced concrete, steel structure and laminated timber made it possible to resolve the large spans required by the project and to integrate the building services specific to an indoor swimming pool. Precise coordination between structural systems was key to achieving quality and efficiency.
