Casa Malla
This listed building, originally constructed in 1871 in the heart of Barcelona’s Quadrat d’Or (the most prestigious part of Barcelona’s Eixample district), has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment that enhances its historical character. Located in a prime setting at the intersection of Rambla Catalunya and Carrer Diputació, the intervention combines the respectful preservation of architectural heritage with the contemporary requirements of a residential building.
The refurbishment focused on preserving the building’s original structure, including the exterior façades and ventilation courtyards, while incorporating two new volumes: a new wrought-iron gallery and a penthouse level. In total, 20 high-end homes were developed, along with a basement level dedicated to building services. The project also included the restoration of joinery, metal elements and the original façade colour scheme.
