The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, also known as the Montmeló Circuit, is one of Spain’s most iconic motorsport venues. Located near Barcelona, it has been operating since 1991 and has become a key venue on the international motorsport calendar, hosting annual Formula 1 and MotoGP events.

The project involved renovating key areas of the facility – the medical centre, hospitality suites and podium – with the aim of optimising operations during events. The works, carried out without interrupting sporting activity, delivered a fully equipped medical centre, improved services for teams and sponsors, and a refreshed institutional image for the venue.

  • Ensuring operational continuity

The interventions were carried out in critical areas without disrupting the operations of the Circuit, which continued to host scheduled events throughout the construction process.

  • Modernising and specialising the facilities

Renovation of the hospitality suites and upgrades to the medical centre delivered more efficient, technologically prepared spaces. The podium and control tower were also updated to meet international standards.

  • Integrating construction, energy and regulatory improvements

The project incorporated lightweight modular systems, enhanced insulation and upgraded building services to improve efficiency. It complied fully with regulatory and environmental criteria, including those related to selective waste management.

We have brought to fruition

A more efficient and safer Circuit, aligned with international standards

  • The interventions optimised space use and elevated service quality for teams, sponsors, visitors and organisers. The Circuit reinforced its institutional image and public visibility, positioning itself among the leading international circuits.
  • The medical centre was upgraded to include areas for minor surgery, an emergency zone, ICU and X-ray services, transforming it into a first-rate medical response unit within the Circuit.
  • The project was planned around highly restrictive schedules linked to Grand Prix events. Execution integrated innovative and functional solutions, ensuring coherence across interventions of diverse nature.
