Emergency plan for La Baells dam
Commissioned by the Catalan Water Agency (ACA), we are carrying out the implementation works for the Emergency Plan at La Baells Dam, covering the municipalities of Cercs, Olvan, Gironella, Casserres, Puig-reig and Gaià. The project includes the installation of 12 public warning sirens, the refurbishment of the Emergency Control Room and the implementation of the telecommunications and remote-control systems required to manage any emergency at the dam.
The project falls within the water and hydraulic infrastructure sector and combines civil engineering, installations and telecommunications works. The installation of twelve 11-metre-high sirens at different locations along the Llobregat River, some of them difficult to access, has required precise coordination between specialist teams.
In parallel, the dam’s office and workshop buildings have undergone extensive refurbishment while remaining operational throughout the works and being adapted to the needs of their users. The project has made it possible to retain the existing buildings while incorporating improvements in insulation, air renewal and energy-efficient climate control.
